Today (April 23), Bituin Escalante celebrates her 40th birthday.

The musical theatre actress and singer’s career began to soar after her interpretation of the Arnold Reyes’ song “Paano Na” won second prize at the 2000 Metropop Song Festival. Escalante was eventually named one of country’s best female vocals in 2002, with her interpretation of Soc Villanueva’s Himig Handog Music Love Song Festival grand-prize-winning entry: “Kung Ako na Lang Sana.”
