Today (June 2), whistling diva Morissette celebrates her 21st birthday.

From the moment she was born, Johanne Morissette Amon seems to have been destined to flourish in the music industry, being named after prominent musicians Johann Sebastian Bach and Alanis Morissette. Amon began joining singing contests at an early age, including Talentadong Pinoy (2010), Star Factor (2010), and The Voice Philippines (2013). In the latter competition, the self-confessed Sarah Geronimo fan gained the favor of the Popstar Royalty herself with her blind auditions performance of Beyonce‘s “Love On Top”.

In 2015, Morissette released her self-titled debut album, featuring the single “Di Mapaliwanag”.

Despite being relatively fresh in the scene, the young songstress’ vocal prowess has already received multiple recognitions, such as MOR Pinoy Music’s Best New Artist Award in 2015, the 7th PMPC Star Awards for Music’s New Female Recording Artist of the Year Award in the same year, and most recently, the following slew of awards in the 2nd Wish 107.5 FM Music Awards:
Best Wishclusive Performance by a Female Artist
Best Wishclusive Collaboration
Wish Original Song of the Year by a Female Artist
Wish Female Artist of the Year
Wish Reactor’s Choice Award
