Louis Tomlinson is the only member of One Direction who has not yet released any solo music, but not for long. With a new song set for release on July 21, on Tuesday (July 11) the singer teased fans with a video and what appears to be the track title.
The short video clip featured grainy footage (in much of which Tomlinson is playing soccer) and includes what sounds like the song’s hook: “I just keep on coming back to you.” It includes the words “Back to You” scrawled on a chalkboard at the end and Tomlinson emphasized the point by commenting the hashtag #BackToYou.

Interestingly, Tomlinson’s One Direction bandmate Harry Styles is also set to make a debut of a different kind on July 21 — that day marks the opening of his first film as an actor in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
After the first four members of 1D established themselves as prominent solo artists by reaching the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, Tomlinson is presumably eager to join them. If he succeeds, his achievement will mark One Direction as a more successful boy band than The Beatles: They will have charted as a group (peaking at No. 2 with “Best Song Ever” on Aug 10, 2013) and individually as solo artists. Liam Payne‘s “Strip that Down” currently resides at No. 28, as the group members’ most recent solo hit, and former member Zayn Malik‘s “Pillowtalk” hit No. 1 in February 2016.
As for Tomlinson’s solo career, it had a promising start with a feature on Steve Aoki’s “Just Hold On.” Despite labeling himself as the “forgettable” one of 1D teammates, “Back To You” may change that on July 21.
