Hard-rock band Stone Sour, which is led by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, announced Thursday that its new album, Hydrograd, will arrive June 30. The project, produced by Jay Ruston (Steel Panther, Anthrax), is the fifth studio album for the Roadrunner Records quintet, which made its debut with its eponymously titled album in 2002.
Stone Sour — which is now rounded out by drummer Ray Mayorga, bassist Johny Chow and guitarists Josh Rand and Christian Martucci — introduced Hydrograd with an official video for the track “Fabuless” and a stream for the track “Song #3.” “Fabuless” is one of Stone Sour’s heaviest tracks to be released as a single; its guitar-laden intro repeats itself at the chorus, where Taylor cops a few famous lyrics for the refrain. He name-checks “Been a long time since I rock ’n’ rolled” from Led Zeppelin’s “Been a Long Time” and “It’s only rock ’n’ roll but I like it” from The Rolling Stones’ namesake song as the band plays before a sea of Sky Dancer inflatables.

Meanwhile, “Song #3” is a slightly less intense, more emotive cut with a driving style that’s similar to Stone Sour’s Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1s “Say You’ll Haunt Me”(2010) and “Tired” (2014). You can listen to “Song #3” here:

Stone Sour has collected eight top 10 songs on Mainstream Rock Songs, dating back to “Bother” in 2002. In addition to ruling the list with the aforementioned No. 1s, it also topped the chart with “Through Glass” in 2006. The song also experienced some pop crossover, peaking on the Adult Pop Songs list at No. 12. The band has landed three top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 and has sold 2.1 million albums in the United States to date, according to Nielsen Music.
Stone Sour will join forces with Roadrunner labelmates Korn in June for the Serenity of Summer Tour. The North American trek begins June 16 in Salt Lake City and wraps Aug. 2 in Cleveland, Ohio.
