It’s a bright New Year, and Up Dharma Down are quick to make some big life changes. At the stroke of midnight, vocalist Armi Millare, guitarist Carlos Tanada, bassist Paul Yap, and drummer Ean Mayor waved goodbye to 2016 and the name they’ve held for over a decade to welcome the New Year as UDD with the release of “Sigurado.”

Heavily embracing elements of Japanese City Pop, UDD’s “Sigurado” gives listeners an idea on the new direction the Terno Recordings act will taking for their fourth studio album. Fans who frequent their shows would recognize the song as the closing medley to the Capacities track “Turn It Well.” It was also secretly unveiled first at toe’s recent show at Samsung Hall, before the math-rock act took the stage.
